The goal of Hill Country Christian School’s Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) curriculum is to give young learners a head start and provide them with an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment tailored to meet their academic and social needs. We are committed to creating a safe, loving atmosphere that allows each child to develop cognitively, socially, physically, and spiritually, providing for a successful transition to Kindergarten.

Goals and Objectives

The basic objectives for our full-time Pre-K Curriculum are as follows:

  • Writing the letters A-Z (capital and lowercase)
  • Writing the numbers 1-10
  • Calendar (names of days and months)
  • Colors and shapes
  • Weather identification
  • Perception and developing observation skills
  • Understanding opposites and positional words
  • Sequence comprehension (patterns and relationships)
  • Character education (manners, positive values and attitude development)
  • Listening and following direction
  • Communication and cooperation
  • Music and art
  • Bible
  • Health (body awareness) and science
  • Fine- and gross-motor activities
  • Ongoing math and language development
