Goals

Classroom Activities

Curriculum

HCCS aims to provide a balanced and integrated approach to learning. Here are some of the key goals and objectives:

  • Understanding God:  As Christians, we know that the knowledge of God is the key foundational truth to understanding the world around us.  This includes learning about his love for us.
  • Bible Stories:  We utilize the stories of the bible to help understand relationships with one another and the importance of building a relationship with God.
  • Language: A phonics-based approach is used to develop reading skills.
  • Mathematics: Using interactive activities and manipulatives, students learn numbers, measurements, and basic operations.
  • Science:  Studying the world around us is one of the most precious gifts God has blessed us with.  The more we take in his Creation to more we learn about his love for us.   The complexity and perfection of science illustrate just how amazing our Creator is.
  • Reading:

Classroom Activities

Curriculum

Our curriculum is the School of Tomorrow PACES (A.C.E. workbooks). We use ABEKA books to supplement Math and Reading. Although our class time is mostly lock-step, each student will read through a series of phonetic readers at their own pace, individually progressing to more complex books. Along with the core subjects, we have a separate class for music.

Children must be five by September 1st to be enrolled in kindergarten.
