Classroom Assistant

Job Summary

The Classroom Assistant provides classroom support for a lead teacher as they guide the class through a lesson.  A typical day consists of preparing materials, interacting with students and supervising projects. Their duties include preparing lesson plans, tutoring students, taking attendance and monitoring student progress.   

This person should be compassionate about teaching, collaborative with co-workers, kind to our students, and possess a desire to serve in a Christian community.  

Duties & Responsibilities

-Assist with teaching students their daily work, leading biblical devotionals, supervising students during recess, leading daily prayers, monitoring students at lunch, approving monthly scripture readings, and other support needed.

-Assist with taking attendance, grading, and entering grades.

-Assist with communication to parents, teachers, students, and other faculty or staff.

-Assist with instruction preparation which could include: copying lesson plans, daily agenda entries, reviewing journals entries, bible lessons, field trip organization, checking reading logs and helping students with scripture memorization.

-Assist in keeping a safe and clean classroom and campus for the students

-Assist with disciplinary action and communication 

-Attend required meetings, conferences, training and other school events.

-Participate in teacher/parent conferences

-Build and Maintain Godly relationships with students, parents, teachers, co-workers, and administration.

-Two years experience working with children in a Christian environment

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Computer Literate

-Organized and Timely

-Collaborative and a team player

-Morally sound in decision making and conflict resolution

-Bible knowledge and comprehension

-High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Schedule & Salary

Full-Time is Monday -Thursday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.                      $16,750

Part-Time is Monday - Thursday, with a 4-hour daily work shift.            $8, 375

Classroom Assistant work 10-months out of the year and attends teacher's required training and retreats.
