Rams Overcome Panthers

Thursday, September 1- The Hill Country Christian School’s Lady Rams faced off against San Marcos Homeschool Panthers at the Ram’s home court, and defeated them in five sets with a final score of 15-8.   In the first set, the Rams came out swinging, taking the first set in a matter of minutes, with a series of serving streaks. Communicative and working like a well-oiled machine, the Rams took the set while holding the Panthers to 15 points.   The Panthers came back with fury, in the second set, sending the Rams sprawling momentarily as they managed to limit the Rams to a mere 11 points.   The Rams fought long and hard in the third set, but still could not manage to take the set, 19-25.   Being down 2-1 at the start of the fourth set, the home team looked to even the score. They came back and put it to the Panthers with a score of 25-19. This sudden comeback put the visiting team in a daze, allowing the Rams to swoop in and take the set.   In the fifth and final set, the Rams wasted no time in gaining a lead over the Panthers, with a string of serves. After that, it was a breeze as the hosting team won point after point. The final score of the night was 15 Rams, 8 Panthers.   Leading the Rams offense was senior Krysta Castillo with 10 kills and 4 aces. Corri Luna, senior, lead the teams defense with 25 digs.   The Rams next home game is September 13 at 6:00pm when they take on Bulverde Bracken.
