About Us

Student - About UsHill Country Christian School (HCCS) was established in the fall of 1976 as an extension of Hill Country Faith Ministries.  Hill Country Faith Ministries started HCCS with the belief that the school is a vital, integral, and inseparable part of its outreach and seeks to minister to the whole person.  The school was started under the leadership of Pastor Ted McReynolds and Principal Ron Carnes.

During the first year the school, consisting of 35 students, was housed in an old funeral home, which the church had converted into a halfway house and church offices.  In the second year the school moved into a new, two-story building.  All 35 students returned accompanied by 55 more.

During HCCS’s 35 year history there have been as many as 176 students, averaging 125 students per year.

Graduates of HCCS have gone on to graduate from Texas State University San Marcos, Texas A & M, Baylor, The University of Texas, Pepperdine University, The Merchant Marine Academy, The United States Military Academy, and The United States Naval Academy.  Approximately 80% of our students continue their education in some institution of higher learning.

We are humbled and thankful for the privilege and opportunity God has given us to serve Him with this school.
